Salton Sea Earth Day Tree Planting & TV Show Filming
Time & Location
About the Event
This year for Earth Day, we're planting trees and sharing Salton Sea stories with Roy Durantes' Saving Salton Sea TV Show at our canal restoration center site in Desert Shores!
Show up at 3713 Capri ln. Desert Shores, CA 92275
(Google is a little off; go to the end of Capri ln.)
Or tune in for an update from Desert Shores LIVE AT 12 NOON HERE on Zoom.
The overall project involves installing a berm to keep water in the drying Desert Shores Canals, and we won't wait any longer to begin restoring this area. We are happy that so much progress is happening with the state and engineering team for the berm and refill design planning. Let's get turn area green while the water infrastructure design is underway.
Please reach out if you'd like to sponsor a tree! We estimate with planting and a water system, that will be about $100 for a year. You can support by grabbing a shovel, making donations or buying a shirt!
Regular donations are better to keep this moving forward.
We've also partnered with volunteers from the Air Pollution Control District to give away indoor air filtration units to our community residents who are most vulnerable to air pollution impacts. We invite you to come join us to celebrate Earth Day, plant a tree, share your story and learn how to protect yourself with clean air!
We look forward to greening the Salton Sea with you!
